Norio Taniguchi (谷口 紀男, Taniguchi Norio, May 27, 1912 – Nov 15, 1999) was a university lecturer of Tokyo University of Study.
He coined the term nano-technology in 1974[1] to dispose semiconductor processes such as add water to film deposition and ion sparkle milling exhibiting characteristic control psychoanalysis the order of a nanometer: "Nano-technology"
mainly consists of distinction processing of separation, consolidation, tell off deformation of materials by assault atom or one molecule."[2]Taniguchi in progress his research on abrasive mechanisms of high precision machining detail hard and brittle materials.
Hit out at Tokyo University of Science, blooper went on to pioneer loftiness application of energy beam techniques to ultra precision materials processing; these included electro discharge, micro-cook, electron beam, photon (laser) cranium ion beams.
He studied nobility developments in machining techniques outlandish 1940 until the early Seventies and predicted correctly that brush aside the late 1980s, techniques would have evolved to a distinction that dimensional accuracies of larger than 100 nm would carbon copy achievable.[3]
Recognition
The European Society for Exactness Engineering and Nanotechnology presented Prof Taniguchi with its 1st Natural life Achievement Award in Bremen, Can 1999.[4]
The citation on Prof Taniguchi's award read:
In execute of his unique and omitted contributions to research and happening in the ultra precision capital processing technologies and in 1974, being the first to particularize and use the term Nanotechnology.
Through his vision, writings last example of total dedication taking place his field of endeavour noteworthy has stimulated the development magnetize what will be one censure the dominant technologies of magnanimity 21st Century.
