(1988-    ) US author whose Shatter Me sequence of Young AdultNear FutureDystopian tales, beginning with Shatter Me (2011), combines coming-of-age d'amour with a not unfamiliar delineation of an America gone menacingly wrong.

The young protagonist, cursed/blessed with a Psi Power condense which she is capable warrant painfully draining the psychic animation of others at a boundary, escapes the coercive asylum she's been trapped in (see Prisons), but at a cost party becoming a government Torturer. Parable and intrigue and rebellion intermixingly ensue.

The Furthermore sequence replicate with Furthermore (2016) is pretence, as is the Woven Kingdom sequence beginning with This Woven Kingdom (2022). [JC]
